Transfer of studies

“Qiriazi” University College offers the possibility of credit recognition and transfer of studies between programs of the same study cycle, either within the College or from other higher education institutions.

The periods of study and obligations completed in study programs at other institutions, domestic or foreign, are recognized and considered equivalent with regard to the right to continue education in the same or a similar program.

Recognition is carried out by the higher education institution to which the request for continuation of studies has been submitted.

Transfers are allowed within the same cycle of studies and in the same or related fields of study, and only at the beginning of the academic year.

The criteria and procedures for the recognition of credits and transfer of studies are defined in the regulations of the basic unit, in accordance with the law, other sublegal acts, and this regulation.

The decision for full or partial recognition of credits earned by a transferring student, in order to continue studies at the host higher education institution, belongs to the relevant commission established by the basic unit of the institution.

The rules and procedures of transfer, for each study cycle, are described in this regulation below.

Transfer of Studies within the Same Study Program

“Qiriazi” University College offers the possibility of student transfers during intermediate years between programs of the same cycle, either within the institution itself or between other higher education institutions, and also allows its students to transfer to other universities, according to the procedures provided in this regulation.

As a rule, transfers are carried out in intermediate years and candidates with the highest results are accepted. The minimum required credits for the transfer of studies are 30. The Faculty may recognize all or part of the credits earned by the student, in accordance with the procedure of recognition and equivalence of courses/modules.

The procedures for the transfer of studies, as a rule, begin at least three months before the start of the academic year and end one week prior to the start of the academic year.

Transfer Procedure

The applicant submits a request to the Academic Secretariat of the College along with the required documentation, which consists of:

  • Document certifying student status at the university of origin;

  • Certification regarding the study program and course enrolled in, and the academic year in which studies were interrupted;

  • Transcript of completed obligations, credits, and grades earned for each course;

  • Curriculum plan and syllabi of the courses/modules completed;

  • Certification of State Matura exam scores;

  • Identification document (civil status certificate with photograph);

  • Document certifying whether or not the student is entitled to a scholarship.

The Academic Secretariat is responsible for verifying the legitimacy of the higher education institution from which the student comes, the level of the study program followed, and the originality and authenticity of the submitted documents. Upon approval of quotas, the Academic Secretariat forwards the collected requests, verified documentation, and MES instructions to the respective faculties.

Faculties may set specific criteria for the acceptance of study transfers, which must be publicly announced (online and on notice boards) at the start of the transfer procedure.

The decision for the acceptance of students proposed for transfer is taken by the relevant commission established by the basic unit of the higher education institution.
