Student Government at “Qiriazi” University College

The students of “Qiriazi” University College have the right to organize into student councils at the unit level, at the institutional level, as well as to participate in student organizations at the national level.

Student councils are independent representative structures that do not engage in political or economic activities. Their purpose is to promote active student participation in academic and institutional life, as well as to coordinate their representation in the governing bodies of the College.

Student councils are elected every two years through direct voting by the students. In cases where a mandate is vacated due to graduation, transfers, or other reasons, it is replaced by the next candidate with the highest number of votes in the most recent elections.

The organization and functioning of student councils are determined in the respective regulations of the College and its constituent units, in accordance with the law on higher education and in support of student proposals.

Competencies of the Student Councils

Student councils express opinions and present proposals on issues of general interest such as:

  • Study plans and programs;

  • Opening of new programs;

  • Regulations of teaching activities;

  • Quality of academic and administrative services;

  • Tuition fee levels;

  • Organization of cultural, artistic, sports, and social activities.

“Qiriazi” University College supports these structures through a dedicated fund in the annual budget, enabling the implementation of student initiatives and activities.
