The Board of Administration is the highest collegial administrative body of “Qiriazi” University College, which guarantees the fulfillment of the institution’s mission, its financial and administrative success.
The Board of Administration consists of five members employed part-time. The selected members have a five-year mandate, with the following composition:
a) two members from the academic and assistant-academic staff, who are selected by the Academic Senate, from the lists proposed by the main units;
b) three members from outside the institution, from the business world, who are selected and appointed by the assembly of partners of the founding company of “Qiriazi” University College.
The Chairman of the Board of Administration is elected by the selected members at their first meeting. The regulation of the operation of the Board of Administration is drawn up by the Board of Administration itself and approved by the assembly of partners of the founding company of “Qiriazi” University College.
The Board of Administration also appoints/approves a secretary, who is not a member of this board. He is part of the full-time employed staff at “Qiriazi” University College.
The management authorities (rector, heads of main units, heads of basic units and administrators) cannot be members of the Board of Administration. Certain management authorities may be invited to participate in the meetings of the Board of Administration, according to the issues for the sectors they cover.
The Board of Administration has the following main functions:
a) guarantees the financial sustainability of the institution and the fulfillment of its mission;
b) gives an opinion on the draft regulation of “Qiriazi” University College and approves its financial regulation;
c) determines the rules for the distribution of the income that the institution provides from the exercise of its activities, as well as supervises the use of funding sources;
d) is responsible for setting the criteria and procedures for hiring administrators and administrative personnel, based on the acts of the institution;
e) appoints and dismisses the administrator of “Qiriazi” University College;
f) approves the institution’s statute in advance, before it is forwarded to the Academic Senate;
g) approves the detailed annual report of the institution’s activity, drawn up by the Rectorate.
